KRISTIN BOWERS, MBA, PHR
Your local business management advisor
Like you, I have had the pleasure of starting and running a small business here in the Willamette Valley. Upon moving to our farm in Scotts Mills, I discovered a need for a beginner horseback riding instructor in the area. In less than a year I built a successful riding program with a full load of students, a robust wait list, and a strong referral network despite less-than-ideal facilities and being new to our community. My lesson horses had other plans and are now happily retired on our farm, but that didn't stop me from learning a tremendous amount about starting and marketing a successful business in our tight-knit community.

Before teaching riding lessons, I spent 15 years in the service-based corporate world working for regional, national, and global organizations in a variety of operational roles from Accounting to Marketing to Human Resources. In this space, I developed a reputation for process efficiency, program development, and obtaining stakeholder buy-in while maintaining positive and productive working relationships with colleagues, executive leadership, and direct reports.
I hold a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a Marketing Strategy concentration, my Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, a Bachelors in Business Management (BA) with an Accounting focus, and graduated from the invitation-only Inner MBA program for Executive Leadership. I have also had the pleasure of doing program development work in a Lean Six Sigma organization.
This breadth of exposure puts me in a unique position as a business advisor. Through Little Bird Advising, I have big dreams of taking all of that hard-earned education and experiential knowledge to support and elevate local businesses like yours in our community.

And don't worry, I still ride horses; just for fun now and not as a professional.
